Asalaam malaikum wa rahmatullahi wabarakatu, I launched this web app last Dhul Hijjah to share the Islamic knowledge I've learned over the last few years. Since then you may have noticed a few subtle improvements. For Ramadan 1445, I'm releasing the largest update yet mashaAllah including more arabic AND arabic recitation on many of the important duas and adhkar from a dear Qari, Omar Hisham, whose voice I love Alhamdulillah. There are some new features too including easier digital tasbeeh counters, although counting on your fingers is best, and a new recipe mode inshaAllah for Fajr and Maghrib. I hope you enjoy this inshaAllah and it increases you in imaan and regular ibadah this Ramadan and after. May Allah (سبحانه و تعالى) be our Waliye, accept all of our ibadah, accept us into His Mercy as that is the true success. Ameen.
While I am trying my best, I may have made mistakes and if I do please let me know. Never trust or elevate a single preacher, scholar, imam, or any alive-today human. They are human and we are human. We are all flawed. While some of us have much more knowledge, it is always important to look up and make sure what we are doing is precisely according to The Qur'an and authentic sunnah of The Prophet (ﷺ). Always look up, consult, double check, and research. The first word revealed of The Qur'an was "ٱقْرَأْ", Iqra, or Read. At Islam's core is seeking knowledge and learning inshaAllah. If you notice an error, mistake, or would like to help with this project please
email me inshaAllah. I have done my best to include sources and links and a next update in the roadmap is videos of relevant lectures for each adhkar or dua to inform further as context and relevancy is so important Alhamdulillah inshaAllah.
I made a commitment to write the english transliterations exactly as the arabic sounds free of silent letters and difficult grouping, so that it can be pronounced in Arabic with English letters. While learning in Arabic and the Arabic language is key, I felt the best possible supplement to this is adding arabic recitation which I have. May this help my non-native Arabic-speaking, non-Arabic speaking, unable-to-read-Arabic brothers and sisters and may Allah (عزَّوجل) make it easy on you and all of us. Ameen. Remember duas can be recited in your native language, but Arabic has millions of words and English has around half a million. There are entire concepts in English that are capture in a single word in Arabic. For this reason it is important to learn the exact words that were used and translations to languages with less vocabulary will be insufficient. To address this, I'd like to include contextual lectures in the near future inshaAllah
May you find this useful and beneficial and may it help guide you and those around you. subhanAllah wabihamdih Innaka antal Khaliqul Haddee. Ameen.
Alhamdulillah thank you to those that used this during Ramadan— may Allah (عزَّوجل) accept this and all of your ibadah on Ramadan and always and bless it with utmost sincerity and the most weight. Ameen. Most of the major updates and bug fixes are complete Alhamdulillah. There is some more content features planned, but minor updates, however inshaAllah there will be some major updates before Dhul Hijjah inshaAllah ta'Ala Alhamdulillah

which I committed. I acknowledge Your favor upon me and I acknowledge my sin, so forgive me, for indeed none can forgive sin but You
Benefits: This is Sayyidul Istighfar or The Chief Dua of Forgiveness. By reciting this during the day or night and sincerely believing in it, if you pass away during that day or night, you are
guaranteed Jannah. Alhamdulillah. Allah (سبحانه و تعالى) Knows Best.

Benefits: Reciting this dua either 3 times at day or 3 times at night results inshaAllah in ease on The Day Of Judgement and by that ease in the grave as you are "rehearsing" your answers for the
questions of the grave. Alhamdulillah. Allah (سبحانه و تعالى) Knows Best.

Benefits: Recommended to recite 3 times at morning and evening. The Prophet (ﷺ) said if anyone says [this] he will be pardoned, even if he has fled in the time of battle. Abu Dawud. This is thought to mean major sin as fleeing from battle is a major sin. Allah (سبحانه و تعالى) knows best and nothing is an excuse to commit any sin. SubhanAllah Innaka Antal Khayrul Ghafireen. Glory be to God He Alone is Perfect Indeed He Is The Most Forgiving of The Forgiving

Transliteration: Allahum-makfinee bi halalika an haramik wa aghninee bifadhlika 'amman siwaak
Translation: Oh Allah, suffice me with what You have allowed instead of what You have forbidden, and make me independent of all others besides You
Notes: Recommended to read to relieve debts. Remember: dependency on Allah (سبحانه و تعالى)'s creation opens the door to at least minor shirk. We should look at shirk as not what we bow down to or literally worship, but also what we let have power and influence over us.
Transliteration: Allahumma innee a'udhu bika minal-hammee wal-hazan wal-ajzee wal-kasal, wal-bukhlee wal-jubn, wa dhala'id dainee wa ghalabatir rijaal
Translation: Oh Allah, I seek refuge in You from grief and anxiety, from weakness and from laziness, from miserliness and from cowardice, from being overcome by debt, and from being overpowered by men (oppressed by anyone)
Notes: Hammee and hazan are very comprehensive words here. The first being "regret" or sadness about the things you can't change and the second being anxiety about the future you can't predict. Shaytaan wants to worry you with these things because happiness lies in gratitude for the now and patience for the future/faith in the unseen.
Transliteration: Allahumma aafinee fee baddanee, Allahumma aafinee fee sam'ee, Allahumma aafinee fee basarree, la ilaha illa ant. Allahumma innee a'udhu bika minal-kufree, wal-faqr, wa-a'udhu bika min adhabil qabr, la ilaha illa ant
Translation: Oh Allah, grant my body health, Oh Allah, grant my hearing health, Oh Allah, grant my sight health, none has the right to be worshipped but You. Oh Allah, I seek refuge in You from disbelief and poverty, and I take refuge in You from the punishment of the grave. None has the right to be worshipped except You
Notes: Recite 3 times together. Aafiyah (what we're asking for from Allah (سبحانه و تعالى)) for our body, hearing, and sight is a word that can translate to health, but aafiyah is an extremely comprehensive word that covers many things that I can't get into now, but it is almost as if one could ask for one thing ask for aafiyah

Transliteration: Allahumma innee as'alookal afwa wa aafiyah (ta) fid-dunya wal akhira. Allahumma innee as'alookal afwa wal aafiyah (ta) fee deenee wa dunyahyah wa ahlee wa maall-ee. Allahum-mastur 'awratee, wa amir raw'atee wahfagh-nee min baynee yadayyah, wa min khalfee, wa ayy ya-mean-nee wa an shimalee, wa min fawqee, wa a'udhu bika an ughtala min tahtee
Translation: Oh Allah, I ask You for forgiveness and well-being in this word and in the Hereafter. Oh Allah, I ask You for forgiveness and well-being in my religious and worldly affairs. Oh Allah, conceal my faults, calm my fears, and protect me from my right and from my left, and from above me, and I seek refuge in You from being taken unaware from beneath me
Notes: Once again we see the word "aafiyah" in this context meaning well-being or essentially everything good one could ask for. Paired with afwa. Allah (سبحانه و تعالى) is Al Afuw or The Pardoner, The One Who Gives Afwa (or pardoning). The difference between afwa and traditional forgiveness is it is thought that afwa means not only forgiveness of a bad deed, but the expungement of the act itself from one's book/record of deeds. Allah (سبحانه و تعالى) Knows Best.
Translation: Oh Allah, I seek refuge in You from the punishment of the hellfire, from the punishment of the grave, from the tests/trials of life and death, and from the evil and the trial of the false messiah
Notes: Recommended to say in salah in sitting position right before salaam/tasleem. Some scholars say this is a mandatory part of salah. The trials of death are an important concept because one can spend their whole life doing what they believe or what others believe is ibadah, but like the end of Ramadan, the end of the first 10 days of Dhul Hijjah, Friday, the end of the night, it is how we end things that matters. Shaytaan will come to us at full force trying to get us to die in a state of disbelief. We must prepare and seek refuge while we are alive from this and all of these things inshaAllah

Translation: I seek refuge in The Perfect Words of Allah from the evil He has created
Benefits: Narrated from Abu Hurairah (رضي الله عنه), The Prophet (ﷺ) said that Whoever reads this at night, no harm will affect [them]. Notes: In this, we recognize that and Praise Allah (سبحانه و تعالى) through knowing He is in control of everything and it is He who created anything bad that could happen, but it is in His Guidance that He blesses us with that lies the protection from that. It is important to know that things may appear good or bad to us, but what defines them as harm or punishments is if they take us farther away from Allah (سبحانه و تعالى) or not. What apparently may seem like the best blessings is absolutely not contingent to anyone's internal state or their position in the ranks only known by Allah (سبحانه و تعالى). An interesting aside: Those that might "flex" being from an important family or even nation or people; or for example, doing amazing good deeds may not have the high ranks they are intending others to believe because 1.) What they are doing is prideful, asserting themselves over others. Especially if they are doing it through apparent good deeds and acts of worship, this is exactly what iblees (lucifer) did when disobeying Allah (سبحانه و تعالى) and not bowing down to Adam (عليه السلام). 2.) Their oppressive self assertion (their pride) is defeated because it is dependent on others believing and endorsing this false status. How can someone superior be dependent? Tips: Should be said 3x when reaching a destination when traveling for protection against all harm when on that stop Alhamdulillah. Can be said in the morning too, but should be said at night and when reaching a new stop during travel for sure.

Translation: Allah! There is none worthy of worship but Him, The Ever-Living, All-Sustaining. Neither drowsiness nor sleep overtakes Him. To Him belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth. Who could possibly intercede with Him without His permission? He [fully] knows what is ahead of them and what is behind them, but no one can grasp any of His knowledge— except what He wills [to reveal]. His Throne encompasses the heavens and the earth, and the preservation of both does not tire Him. For He is The Most High, The Greatest.
Say, [Oh Prophet,] "He is Allah— The One [And Indivisible]
Allah— The Sustainer [needed by all]
He has never had offspring, not was He born
And there is none comparable to Him
Benefits: For every 1 time one recites Surah Al Ikhlas at night, from Maghrib to Fajr, it counts as reading 1/3rd of the entire Qur'an. So for 3 times, it is the reward of reciting the entire Qur'an that single night! MashaAllah. And for every 10 times one recites Surah Ikhlas, Allah (سبحانه و تعالى) builds a home for them in Jannah. TabarakAllah
Say, [Oh Prophet,] "I seek refuge in the Lord of daybreak"
from the evil of whatever He has created,
and from the evil of the night when darkness spreads,
and from the of those blowing onto knots,
and from the evil of an envier when they envy
Benefits: When one recites this at night, they are protected from everything that night. Think about what we are seeking refuge in Allah (سبحانه و تعالى) As Samad (The Eternal Refuge), the 2nd the last verse describe a type of spell; thus, we're seeking protection from magic and as Muslims we have to believe that these are real things done by those aligned with the shayataeen. And, by the last verse, the evil eye (No need for jewelry, emojis, charms, or symbols— in fact there's an argument that relying on such things for protection is a form of shirk especially when Allah (سبحانه و تعالى) had given us all we need in this surah to protect us. Allah (سبحانه و تعالى) Knows Best)
Say, [Oh Prophet,] "I seek refuge in the Lord of humankind,
the Master of humankind,
the God of humankind,
from the evil of the lurking whisperer—
who whispers into the hearts of humankind—
from among the jinn and humankind
Benefits: Here we are glorifying and acknowledging The Majesty And Power Of Allah (سبحانه و تعالى) by starting with outlining how He and He alone is in control of everything. We do so 3 times in 3 large ways only attributable to Him and that shows the magnitude of what we are seeking refuge from next. From even the trickiest and most evil thing, shaytaan/the demons/devil when they whisper into other jinn or humans to do evil things. Remember we learn in an earlier part of Surah Al Hashr that the devils are shocked when we follow through on the things they are tempting us towards and THEY praise Allah (سبحانه و تعالى) because we followed through on those whispers. Recite this nightly, all 3 of these final but so important surahs of The Qur'an daily and nightly for protection and unimaginable benefits. InshaAllah

Translation:
The Messenger [firmly] believes in what has been revealed to him from his Lord, and so do the believers. They [all] believe in Allah, His angels, His Books, and His messengers. [They proclaim,] "We make no distinction between any of His messengers." And they say, "We hear and obey. [We seek] Your forgiveness, our Lord! And to You [alone] is the final return."
Allah does not require of any soul more than what it can afford. All good will be for its own benefit, and all evil will be to its own loss. [The believers pray,] "Our Lord! Do not punish us if we forget or make a mistake. Our Lord! Do not place a burden on us like the one you placed on those before us. Our Lord! Do not burden us with what we cannot bear. Pardon us, forgive us, and have mercy on us. You are our [only] Guardian. So grant us victory over the disbelieving people."
Benefits: The reward for reciting the last 2 ayah of Surah Al Baqarah, Ayah 285 and 286, is unfounded. The Prophet (ﷺ) said it will be sufficient for the person who reads this at night (paraphrase). Scholars have interpreted that to mean different things including; but not limited to, 1.) Protect against everything (the evil eye, magic, shayateen, etc), 2.) All the ibadah one could possibly do that night, 3.) All of The Qur'an recitation one could do that night, 4.) Waking up in the night and praying qiyam

What matters is if we are sincere when saying that and only Allah (سبحانه و تعالى), not even us, knows that. Notes: This is The Prophet (ﷺ)'s favorite way to send blessings upon him (ﷺ). I cannot stress enough the beauty and impact, benefits and rewards knowing and saying this dua regularly and incorporating it into your life will have. A few small ways are when you send a single salawat or blessing upon on The Prophet (ﷺ), Allah (سبحانه و تعالى) records 10 good deeds, expunges 10 sins, raises you by 10 ranks in status, and two big waysAllah (سبحانه و تعالى) sends the same blessings to you! And, in the optional following dua of Nabi Ibrahim (عليه السلام)— it is included above, there are so many benefits, but one is that every time you ask for forgiveness for the believers, Allah (سبحانه و تعالى) blessed you with a reward for reach believer (and an angel prays for the same for you). Translation: Our Lord! Do not punish us if we forget or make a mistake Our Lord! Do not place a burden on us like the one you placed on those before us Our Lord! Do not burden us with what we cannot bear Pardon us, forgive us, and have mercy on us You are our [only] Guardian. So grant us victory over the disbelieving people.
Notes: *israaf can roughly translate to any excess or transgressing over the limits Allah (عزَّوجل) has put in place; as He best knows us and what is best for us, but one reason many people may commit it and not know it is israaf in finances. Allah (سبحانه و تعالى) is displeased by this. Even if the money is halal, even if the purchase is halal if the purchaser is living beyond their means or the money could be better spent elsewhere, that is israaf. Making our feet firm means steadfast on the straight path until the moment we return to Allah (SWT), die in a state of belief, as Muslims. One may wonder why are many duas seeking protection and help against the disbelievers and my opinion/understanding completely, may Allah (سبحانه و تعالى) forgive me if I misunderstand or miscommunicate, it is against the act of disbelief whether it is obvious or not is perpetuated by disbelievers and the systems, structure, and constructs they have in place in their societies or customs— which lure and trap people in disbelief, and this applies in Muslim and non-Muslims countries or areas alike. Allah (سبحانه و تعالى) Knows Best.

Translation: Our Lord! You have not created all this without purpose— You are far above that! So protect us from the torment of the Fire
Translation: Our Lord! We have heard someone calling us to faith: "Believe in your Lord"— and we have believed. Our Lord! Forgive us our sins, wipe out our bad deeds, and grant that we join the righteous when we die

Translation: Our Lord! Bestow upon us all that You have promised us through Your messengers— do not humiliate us on The Day of Resurrection. Indeed You never break Your promise.
Notes: The initial followers of Isa (A) ibn Maryam (A), Jesus son of Mary, known in christianity as the disciples said this dua
Transliteration: Rubb-bah-nah un-zill alay-nah ma-idatum min-as-Samaah'ee tuck-oo-noo lunn-nah eeda-(tuck-oo-noo lunn-nah eedal)-lee oww-wah-lee-nah wa aahk-hir-ee-nah wa ayah-tumm-minka war-zuq'oo'nah-(war-zuq'oo'nah) wa antull Khay-rur Raw-zick-een
Translation: Our Lord send down to us a feast from heaven so that we can have a festival— the first and the last of us— and a sign from You. Provide for us, You are The Best Provider
Notes: Adam (A) and Havah (A)/Eve made this dua repenting for their individual sin they both did equally, which resulted in expulsion from Heaven, and their repentance was accepted. Islam reveals that humans are born good and do not carry original sin.
Translation: Our Lord, pour steadfastness upon us and let us die in devotion to You
Notes: This is a dua for sabr (patience). Everything is a test, either good or bad, all meant to turn us back to Allah (سبحانه و تعالى), our Creator. Good requires gratitude and not pride and Bad requires patience and not despair. Afrigh roughly means one is in desperate need, pour what I need on me, in this case patience. And once again we see here Allah (سبحانه و تعالى) showing us how to ask Him that we return to Him in, end in, and He Knows Best as He created us, the best possible state
Translation: Our Lord, avert us from the wrath of hell, for its wrath is indeed a grievous affliction, Evil indeed is it as an abode, and as a place to rest in

Translation: Our Lord, give us joy in our spouses and offspring. Make us good examples for those who are God conscious
Translation: Our Lord, You embrace all things in mercy and knowledge so forgive those who turn to You and follow Your path. Save them from the punishment of Hell
Transliteration: Rubb-bah-nah wa adhkhil-houm Jannati 'adninil-lati wa'attahoum wa man salaha min aba'ihim wa azwa-ji-him wa dhuriy-yatihim innaka antal Azeezul-Hakeem, waqeeh-muss sayyi'at wa man taqis sayyi'ati yawma'idhin faqudd rahimtah wa dhalika huwal fawzul-Adheem
Translation: Our Lord, and make them enter the 'Adn (Eden) Paradise (Everlasting Gardens) which You have promised them, and to the righteous among their fathers, their wives, and their offspring! Indeed, You are The All-Mighty, The All-Wise. And save them from (the punishment of) [their] sins, and whomsoever You save from [that punishment] (excusing them of their sins) that Day (The Day of Judgement), You have taken into mercy. And that is the supreme success
Transliteration: Rubb-bah-nagh-fir lannah wa lee ikh-wahn-neenull-adheena subaqoona bil eemaann wa la tuj'ull fee qoo-loo-bee-nah ghill-ull lil-ladheena ahmun-new Rubb-bah-nah inn-nah-kah Ra'oof-ur Raheem
Translation: Our Lord, forgive us our sins and the sins of our brothers who believed before us and leave no malice in our hearts towards those who believe. Our Lord Indeed You are The Most Kind, The Most Merciful
Notes: Remember to be muslim does mean a follower of Islam, but as you'll see in these duas Muslim means one who had devoted themselves to God submitting that there is none worthy of worship other than Him. All of the true followers of all of the earlier 123, 999 earlier prophets were Muslim too.

Shaytaan wants to worry you with these things because happiness lies in gratitude for the now and patience for the future/faith in the unseen.

The Prophet (ﷺ) said reciting Surah Al Mulk before bed is all that stands between someone and forgiveness. I strongly recommend you learn it as it is beautiful and reassuring and will protect you from the punishment of the grave as well. In the meantime or if you are unable to (Allah (سبحانه و تعالى) Knows Best), some scholars say listening provides the same benefit if one is unable to learn or recite it Allah (سبحانه و تعالى) Knows Best

Remembering Allah (سبحانه و تعالى)
When remembering Allah (سبحانه و تعالى), it is important that while we recite the remembrances, we are sincere and know wholly what they mean
How I and others attempt to express what best forms of dhikr are as follows:
I say attempt because not even the best words we have, except those that Allah (سبحانه و تعالى) has picked for Himself, will always be insufficient in describing Him. That is one meaning of Subhanu Wa Ta'Ala that He (سبحانه و تعالى) Is Far Above, Higher, Than What We Attribute To Him. The adhkar below is what He has picked for Himself and what the angels pray and what The Prophet (ﷺ) led and lived by, there is no better form of remembering Allah (سبحانه و تعالى) if we understand what they mean and say each one with sincerity rather than to reach a higher number. So listen, learn, know, recite, remember:
SubhanAllah: Glory be to Allah, He alone is Perfect. He is far above the imperfections and incomprehensions humans ascribe to Him
Allahu Akbar: Allah is Greater. Not only is He Great, He Is The Greatest, Incomparable and Incomprehensibly. He is Greater than anything, anyone, everyone, and everything that could be called great or the greatest. No matter what we're going through, good or bad, He is Greater and in control. Turn to Him. May He be and Smile on us always. Ameen.
Alhamdulillah: All Thanks And Praise Are Due To Allah. He Is An Naafi, All Good Comes From Him. All Thanks And Praise Are His because they happened with His Permission alone. He blessed us with what we are thankful for and He is the source of all blessings (tabrakAllah)
la ilaha illAllah:There is none worthy or worship or not god but Allah. And Allah Alone. This means nothing should have power over us in a way that controls us, although some of us may not worship physical objects/idols there are numerous idols are forms of polytheism within us and that are invisible. We must recognize them in ourselves and overcome them inshaAllah.
la hawla wa la quwwata illa billah: All Might and All Power Come From Allah. Even if someone appears to be powerful or in control, Allah (سبحانه و تعالى) is in control of them.

One of the best forms of dhikr is saying these remembrances in phrases that amplify them— these specific ways. In this section, we'll see 3 ways to amplify our dhikr. They are as follows:

Translation: While we've discussed a translation of the 5 remembrances at the core of each of the 4 amplifiers, the amplifier text translates as follows: core dhikr equal to the amount of what He (Allah (سبحانه و تعالى)) has created in the heavens core dhikr equal to the amount of what He (Allah (سبحانه و تعالى)) has created in the earth core dhikr equal to the amount of the number between them core dhikr equal to amount of the number of those He will create

Dua techniques and etiquette
Duas are one of the best forms of worship. As I understand it, it is because there is built in sincerity as why would one be asking if they did not believe that Allah (سبحانه و تعالى) could fulfill the dua? Allah (سبحانه و تعالى) Knows Best who is truly sincere, but the other side of that coin is to maintain sincerity. You inward self (nafs) and shaytaan will desperately try to convince you to be hastey and break patience and doubt your dua will come true. It is natural, but astagifullah (I seek the forgiveness from Allah) and a'udhubillah (I seek refuge in Allah). This is an easy way shaytaan can introduce despair and disbelief in our hearts so we have to have our guards up.
There are particular conditions and times when it is best to make dua when duas are accepted. A key thing I like to do is to do a good deed before one starts a dua. A really good way to do this is to privately give some sadaqah or even sadaqyah jariyah before hand (I hope inshaAllah to do a section on this later on).
The best times to make dua are (in no particular order):
When fasting and when breaking your fast (most scholars say this is before you break your fast after the food is laid out, but after the Maghrib adhan and after the dua after the adhan, duas are accepted until Iqama when duas are accepted in fard salah Alahmdulillah mashaAllah!)
After the adhan (call to prayer), especially after reciting the dua for when your hear the adhan (in "Impactful").
When traveling
When it is raining
The last hour of the day on Friday, last hour before Maghrib (sunset prayer)
Between Dhuhur (noon prayer) and Asr (afternoon prayer) on Wednesdays
The last 3rd of the night, before Fajr (dawn prayer) If you wake up at night, hopefully during the last 3rd of the night, do not check your phone, the time, or do anything else except raise your hands and say
"La ilaha illAllah Wah-dahu la Shareeka lah lahul Mulk walahul Hamd wahuwa ala kulli shay'in Qadeer. Alhamdulillahi wa SubhanAllahi wa la ilaha illAllah waAllahu Akbar wa la hawla wa la quwwatta illa billah" +"Allahumagfir lee" +ask what you'd like or do wudu and pray, then the dua or the prayer will be accepted. Sahih Bukhari 1154. The English translation of the meaning is:
None has the right to be worshipped but Allah alone. He has no partner. His is the dominion and His is The Praise. He Has Power Over All Things. All Thanks And Praise Belongs To Allah. Glory Be To Allah, He Alone Is Perfect. And none has the right to be worshipped but Allah, And Allah Is Great And there is neither might nor power except from Allah" +"Oh Allah, forgive me" +ask what you'd like or do wudu and pray, then the dua or the prayer will be accepted.
On Laylat Al Qadr (None knows the precise date, but it is one of the last 10 nights of Ramadan)
During the day of Aarafah (Dhul Hijjah 9)
During sujood, when sitting inbetween sujood, and when sitting before tasleem/salaam in salah
After Salah
When you are sick or when a sick person is making dua for you
When drinking Zam-Zam water
When you are being oppressed (Allah (سبحانه و تعالى) hates oppression so much that even if a non-believer were to call out to Him and Him alone while being oppressed, their dua would be accepted. This is why it is so important to be vigilant, hesitate, and keep an eye on when we wrong or make things difficult for anyone. Even and dare I say especially when we do it in return and wrongfully think it is justified)
When you are praying for someone that isn't there/isn't aware you are praying for them. (When you pray for someone else and angel comes near you and says, "Ameen. Same to you, Ameen." Alhamdulillah)
When starting off with Allahumma innee as'alooka bee annaka antAllah la ilaha illa ant Al Ahad As Samad Alladhee Lum Yalid Wa Lum Yooludd Wa Lum Yaku-llahu Kufuwan Ahad" or "Oh Allah, I ask You by the fact that I bear witness that You Are Allah, none has the right to be worshipped by You. The Unique One, The Eternal Refuge/The Sustainer, The One Who Has No Parent Nor Child, And There Is None Like Him"
When you say Nabi Yunus (Jonah) (عليه السلام)'s dua, "la ilaha illa anta subhanaka innee kuntu min adh-dhalameen"
When you explain why you want/need something. Remember Nabi Zacariah (عليه السلام) did this for example in Surah Maryam (عليه السلام) when asking for a son who was Nabi Yahya (عليه السلام) (John the baptist).
When you ask Allah (سبحانه و تعالى) by extra deeds you did seeking His pleasure and His pleasure alone
duatimewanting something
It is important to know the dua of the believer is always accepted, but that doesn't necessarily mean fulfilled in the way we see it. Even when asking at the above times, how can one expect a dua to be fulfilled if their food, drink, or clothing is haram. And keep it mind an argument for this is the finances that were used to purchase these categories of things even if they are halal/within the allowed limits. May Allah (سبحانه و تعالى) protect and forgive us for our shortcomings and grant us abundant halal rizq (provision). Innaka Antal Khayrur Raziqeen. (Indeed He is The Best Of Providers) Ameen.
Allah (سبحانه و تعالى) is As Samee Ud Dua and Al Mujiyb (The Hearer of Duas and The Responder Of Prayers) and He responds to duas in different ways, but always in ways that it is best for us. DO NOT say inshaAllah in a dua. This 1.) breaks sincerity because we're saying maybe/if Allah (سبحانه و تعالى) wills then fulfill it. 2.) It implies that Allah (سبحانه و تعالى) may do something He wouldn't typically do and Allah (سبحانه و تعالى) can and only does The Best— He Is The Best. Nothing has power over him and nothing can convince him.
Allah (سبحانه و تعالى) responds to duas in ways that include but are not limited to, 1.) fulfilling right away 2.) fulfilling at a later time 3.) blocking an evil that would have come in the fruition of that dua that we couldn't see 4.) saving your dua as shade on the day of judgement. It is said that on the day of judgement, we will wish all of our duas were saved for this moment. May that day pass like the time between Dhuhur and Asr for us and may we be called into Jannat Al Firdaws A'ala without a single question. Allahumma Ameen.
It is very important that we learn and reflect on the conditions that invalidate dua and all ibadah (worship). May Allah (سبحانه و تعالى) protect us from that completely. Innaka Antal Muhaymin Wal Mawlana. Ameen. These include but are not limited to 1.) being rude to our mothers and 2.) keeping a tally/account of the things we do and oppressing people by reminding them, not being generous in that regard. May Allah (سبحانه و تعالى) keep those and all of these diqualifiers far away from us and our descendants and make us of the important ones whose scales are heavy with good deeds the weight on mountains on that Most Humiliating Day for many, The Day Of Judgement. May it pass like the time between Dhuhur and Asr for us. TabarakAllah (Blessed is Allah, All Blessings Come From Allah) Ameen
duaimpactful
Making dua is something I love and we all should because in this moment we can especially relinquish all doubt and ask for the most ridiculous things and have faith that only Allah (سبحانه و تعالى) is Perfect In Ability and can grant anything and everything and will do so in the best way. Some elements especially when doing them all together of this recipe can be long, but it is a beautiful thing to connect with Allah (سبحانه و تعالى) in another way through asking Him and the relief knowing that He knows you better than even you know you and by the very fact that I am asking means He has written it in His master and perfect plan for me to ask and that means there is good in it and He wants to accept it. We can't be hastey or give up or become impatient. Some of the prophets (عليه السلام) waited decades before their duas were answered and they were the closest to Allah (سبحانه و تعالى). But here are some steps that have helped me along the way:
These steps don't have to be done in order and some can be skipped, but however you ask, do so with sincerity, belief, and ease
Do a good deed/do wudu and say duas after wudu/making the intention that Zam Zam water does all one intends for it to do, having Zam Zam water bought with halal finances, and then appropriately drinking the Zam Zam water in sips in between and after making dua
Start by Praising Allah (سبحانه و تعالى). There are some beautiful ways in the Remembering Allah (سبحانه و تعالى) section.
Call Upon Him. This can be as simple as Ya Rubb (3 times) (Oh Lord) or Rubb-bah-nah (Our Lord) or Rubbee (My Lord). Duas can be done in any language, whatever is most sincere, which can be thought of as being your native tongue
Sending Blessings And Peace On The Prophet (ﷺ), see section of same name
Praying for the believers (This is a very good deed and an excellent way to do this and the above is Durood E Ibrahim (عليه السلام), in the extended/optional part of the section titled Sending Blessings and Peace on The Prophet (ﷺ))
I then like starting off when one of the last 4 of the techniques in the earlier section "Times to make dua"
Asking what I want and praying for others
Calling Upon/Praising Allah (سبحانه و تعالى) with His Names/Praiseworthy Titles that are relevant to what I am asking or saying all 99 Names That He Named Himself With at the End
Saying a dua of gratitude
Sending Blessings And Peace On The Prophet (ﷺ), see section of same name
Ending with Praising Allah (سبحانه و تعالى). Some of my favorite ways are:
Innaka Antal Hayyun Kareem Wal Ahad Was Samad Was Samee Ud Dua (Indeed Allah Is The Shy To Not Generously Give, The One, The Eternal Refuge/The Sustainer, The Hearer Of Supplication).
(None has the right to be worshipped but Allah alone. He has no partner. His is the dominion and His is the Praise and He is Able To Do All Things. Oh Allah, There is none who can withhold what You have given and none may give what You have witheld; and, the might of a mighty person cannot benefit him against You)
Saying, "Ameen", "Allahumma Ameen", or "Ameen ya Rubbal-alameen"
Do Not blow/do ruqya and spread over face and over body. Doing this after a dua is a biddah that unfortunately a lot of people and I used to do. Ruqya is a real thing and doing dhikr and duas that are part of the dhikr after salah are a real, permitted thing. But doing ruqya/blowing and spreading over face and body should only be done before sleep with Surah Ikhlas, Surah An Nas, Surah Al Falaq; or the different ruqya/duas with blowing over when sick. Blowing and spreading after a dua is not only unauthentic, it is a biddah. The Prophet (ﷺ) never did it. We are allowed to ask for things ourselves, meaning the things we personally want not the duas from The Qur'an and sunnah, once in a while after a salah. The best times to ask for things is 1. in sujood 2. before tasleem/salaam in salah, also the sitting time between sujoods. However, The Qur'an can not be recited in ruku or sujood. It is forbidden for The Prophet (ﷺ) and us. Allah (سبحانه و تعالى) Knows Best.
